Tandem Jumping

Tandem skydiving is the quickest way to experience freefall. You are attached to an instructor with a special harness. You both exit the aircraft and freefall from around 10,000 feet for about 40 seconds at a speed of 120 mph at which time the instructor will pull the ripcord to deploy a parachute that is specifically designed for two people.

You will then assist the instructor in guiding the parachute to an on target landing at the airport. Training for a tandem jump takes approximately 10 minutes and is taught at the airfield.  To do a tandem skydive you must be 16 years of age with parental consent required under 21 and you must weigh no more than 100kg.

Video footage is taken by professional videographers. They tape footage of the tandem passenger being briefed and kitted up, walking out to the aircraft, in the aircraft, the exit, the entire skydive and the landing. This is edited and set to music and makes a wonderful keepsake. Some drop zones also offer DVD format. Still photographs are also available.
